Gallery Update

Here is the plan: I have been working crazily on modifying some code I have used in the past to run the gallery without a database. Essentially, the Coppermine database was closing in on 300MB. I am guessing I must’ve hit the limit for efficiency there. So, in a day or two, I will have a *crosses fingers* quick, basic, efficient gallery back online for you.

Because a few of you expressed interest in subscribing or donating in order to keep the gallery online (and someone already donated, thank you dahuty!), here is a poll. What do you think is worth donating/subscribing? Just to access the gallery, being able to download zip files, or something else I haven’t thought of. Please comment and let me know.

[poll=5]

Thanks.

    I’d prefer the gallery access, just because I’m usually only interested in a few scenes from each episode.

    I’m on dial-up so I use the gallery rather than spending hours/days trying to download large zips.
    That way I can pick and choose the screencaps I need.

    forsquilis: Thanks for the feedback. Personally, I like galleries (if the thumbnails are of decent size), but I know plenty of people like to download files to their computer for ease of access. Most likely, if anything becomes a subscription service it will be the zip downloads. I am pretty sure about that.

    weezy: I understand completely. Please let me know how the new gallery format works for you in terms of speed on your connection. Thanks!

    I voted Zip file download, simply because they are fast for me to DL and I’d prefer getting all of the caps on my computer.

    Thanks for bringing the site back up!

    Hey i didn’t know where to put this comment but I was looking for some season 3 Alias caps like spy-caps.com and it took me here where there is only season 5. Am I missing something? Are you planning on putting the old seasons up?

    I retired Spy Caps because I didn’t want to maintain the Coppermine gallery application. I will eventually get all of the Alias caps I had on here.
